Trapezoid tantrik bowls are an old type of India bowl from the Ahom dynasty (1228–1826 CE) and made in the Indian states of Assam and Arunachai Pradesh.
Some bowls have inscriptions in old Tai-Ahom characters. These inscriptions will sometimes additionally show lotus blooms. Trapezoid tantrik bowls bowls have flat bottoms, Thick inward sloping walls, often lined and sometimes dual colour, rims are of the tantrik, protruding type, thick and sturdy, the rims are often decorated with lines.
Sizes range from 4 to 8 inches. Correspondingly, the range of notes is large, third to sixth octave. Sets of 7 are sometimes obtainable. Some of the notes (E. F, G) are rare however. It is possible, over time, to put a set of 13 bowls together to include sharps. They sound amazing when played together as 1 instrument in fact these bowls come into their own when played together.
Trapezoid tantrik bowls are some of the rarest and oldest bowls available now. Rim play on these bowls is almost always non-existent, they are bowls for striking.

Note: E4 335Hz. Good longevity, no rim play.
Decoration: Fine dot punched inscription. Lines outside. Soft lines on rim top. Very soft concentric circles inside.
Patina: Clean, golden bronze. Minimal staining.
