At Temple Sounds we work with individuals all over the Himalayas to ethically source the best new handmade and antique singing bowls.
A beautiful genuine antique handmade lingam singing bowl ethically sourced from Nepal.
Shiva lingam singing bowls are characterised by a lingam placed at the centre of the inner bowl. Traditionally lingam bowls are used for ritual and ceremonial use including marriage. The bowls are quite heavy, substantial and have very thick, smooth walls. The rims are extended inwards towards the bowl giving a triangular ‘male’ rim. The decoration is minimal, with only a few concentric circles at the foot of the lingam and outer walls of the rims. The Lingam represents the god Shiva and the male element within the female bowl creating positive, creative energy through the union of the sacred feminine and masculine. Fantastic bowls for ritual use and sound therapy work.
